Rick Feds is one of the greatest finger-drummers in the world today and the first person in the history who is be able to “finger-drum” all individual parts of electronic music arrangement along with the visual story. A performer, music producer, Fulbright scholar, TEDx speaker, Ableton, ROLI, Pearl Drums, Arturia, Keith McMillen Instruments and Melodics artist that experiments with technology and seeks the boundaries of interactive art forms.

After studies in Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, Denmark establishes the jazz drums program at Jazepa Vītola Music Academy of Latvia but soon after finds his way in the U.S. Besides his studies at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia quickly becomes a sought after session musician and starts working with artists like Cuba Gooding Sr., Betty Wright, Marcus Miller etc. After a few years Fedʼs feels the lack of individual expression and starts focusing on a solo career. The former classical/jazz background makes a key difference in Rick's play on a sample pad. His finger-drumming technique allows him to control all the music production arrangement live that also triggers visual content all in real time and is later enriched by multi-instrumentalist's energetic play on drums, synthesisers, and various other instruments creating a full package of danceable entertainment.. That has never been done before in that extend.

Fedʼs sees that as a initial stage of imitating reality and lately has been focusing on VR and ATMOS sound to create a movie like experience that is fully controlled and improvised by a single individual. His audio/video interactive show is on the very edge of nowadays technical possibilities. Controlling large movie theaters, lights, fire works and water fountains in real time has never been done by using AbletonPUSH or any other sampler while playing music at the same time. Each pad of his MIDI controller sends a signal to two different computers, which are simultaneously triggering sound and image. According to Rick, this is a step towards the evolution of mankind performance and the enchantment of reality stemming from the emotion of individuality at that present moment. These are his efforts to resemble God or the universe and the reason and motivation to exist. Rick Feds is the only Latvian musician to represent 6 of the world's largest music production companies, as well as the only Latvian musician who has performed at venues such as The Cutting Room (New York), Rockwood Music Hall (New York), South by South West interactive week (Austin, Texas) and elsewhere. He has been on Ableton's TOP 5 list for 2 years in a row and his mastery on the sample pad as well as the technical innovations have been described in music forums around the world.
